Elkhorn Fly Rod customer
5/24/2010
I happened to come across FlyFishingCrazy.com while looking for an Elk Horn 3
wt. fly fishing rod to take backpacking. I initially ordered a 4-piece rod, but
realized when it arrived it was too long for my pack and asked if I could
exchange it for a 5-piece rod. I couldn't be happier with the new rod - it is
beautiful and will be perfect for camping. But what pleases me most is the
unbelievable customer service! After one puchase I am a customer for
life.

Larry,
...when you called thursday afternoon, i had not recieved the print and was getting
frantic! But of course, when you worry the most, it always comes the next day.
It arrived early Friday morning in perfect condition and was even more
beautifull than I could have imagined. I finally checked my voicemail on
saturday afternoon and thought to myself I'd write ya a note that evening, but
got busy. Once again, sorry for the delayed response. But I am most pleased
with my purchase, and of course with all of your help. As it turned out, number
five in the series, actually arrived to me numbered six out of a hundred and
fifty. My husband really thought he was getting the water bottle with Derek's
work on it, but he couldn't stop smiling after he opened it. Quite honestly,
probably the best v-day/anniversary gift he's ever recieved, and the best money
spent. He was also very keen on the t-shirt and in fact put it on immediately,
thank you again for that. Larry, I cannot thank you enough, my husband is very
happy, has found he loves your website, tells everyone about it and d
erek's
artwork, and I of course "Am the best damn wife you could ask for!" We will be
back to make more artwork purchases through your site, and knowing my fishing
husband, probably many more! He's already checking out reels and
poles!
Once again, my sincerest thank
you's!
Gratefully,
Kaycee Johnsen

ELKHORN:
I was in Denver CO at the Sportsman show looking for a 3wt Scott or T&T. I cast both company's rods and they were close to what I wanted but the price was out of line. As I came off the casting platform a gentleman from Elkhorn asked me if I liked what I had been casting. I told him yes. He asked what weight I was looking at and asked me to cast one of his rods. I did and purchased a 3wt on the spot. I have added a 5wt since then and plan to add a 4wt in the near future. My Elkhorns are my best rods.

"In 2007 Mike Zalewski of The Shelbyville Rod Company in Hastings, Michigan contacted Chris to see if he wanted to have his own signature series line of fly rods. He agreed to this proposal provided that he liked the way the rods cast, and that he could specify the type of action, guides, handle and other esthetic aspects of the rod, along with it being in a moderate price level. He was accustomed to casting rods such as the Redington, Loomis, and Templefork. To his delight, the rods exceeded his expectations. The rod series includes nine foot, four piece rods in size 5-10 weight."
