The "Enlisted" Grade Project Healing Waters fly rod is the first, or entry level, of 4 distinct grades and is proudly built in the U.S.A. by T.L. Johnson Rod Company. These rods are based on custom blanks made exclusively for Fly Fishing Crazy. This fly rod comes on unique T.L. Johnson designed and built blanks in line weights 4-8.  The 8'6" 4 weight rod is a Medium/Fast action incorporating a graphite resin system along with helical reinforcement.  The 9' rods are a Fast action blank that incorporates a unique graphite resin system that is a high modulus blend. The unique construction of these rod blank designs make them very light, yet extremely durable. Project Healing Waters fly rods are balanced to achieve low swing weight. The rods are 4 piece Matte Finish graphite allowing for easy color customization and are proudly made in the U.S.A.

Project Healing Waters rods begin with a T.L. Johnson blank and are all fitted with quality components, but made affordable. The "Enlisted" Grade rod comes with a quality black anodized aluminum reel seat with walnut insert, extra fine grade cork half wells grip, a delrin winding check, black guides and tip-top.  Rod line weights 7 and 8 plus the 691-4 All-Purpose model will have an all black anodized reel seat (suitable for fresh or saltwater), short fighting butt and 2 stripper guides. This Project Healing Waters rod is a true workhorse rod that won’t break the bank!

The "Enlisted" Grade fly rods are wrapped in Olive Green thread with NCP Olive accent and hand inscribed with "Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing", rod length, line weight, and serial number. 

These rods are custom built as they are ordered, so please allow 4-8 weeks build time on your order.

I am a proud volunteer for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing.  The Denver chapter is currently teaching disabled Veterans to tie flies and cast a fly rod.  We now offer rod building classes for veterans.  The flies they tie will be lost or tattered with use, but a fly rod can be be a life long companion in their fly fishing efforts.
